The 3 Dangers of Nasal Rinses that you must know
Written by Austin Goh on March 11th 2020
If you’re having trouble breathing. It might be because of your stuffy nose. Having a constant stuffy nose is a common condition called Sinusitis. It may seem like a small thing, but up to 28.9 million (11.6%) in the US suffer from it!
Now, if you look at typical solutions, the market has plenty of solutions.

The common pharmaceuticals are:

1.Nasal Sprays
2. Nasal Rinses / Neti pots

They are extremely popular and to my amazement - many people are unaware of the risks of using these products.

Today, I’m going to outline the associated risks of using a Nasal Rinse, and why it is not a good long term solution for your sinusitis.

1) Unsterilised water can increase the risk of a brain infection

A 69 year old American woman, rinsed her Sinuses with tap water and died from a Brain Eating Amoeba.

The water that she used in her saline solution, was infected. The water hadn’t been distilled, sterilized or boiled before use.

Amoebas are known to cause a range of human diseases, and in this poor lady’s case. It entered through her sinuses and made its way to her brain.

Once contracted it is almost always fatal.

Little are known in the detection of Amoebas as they were only discovered in 1986.

By the time your doctor’s have detected it - it will be too late.
You will be ping ponged around by the medical system. Until the Amoeba has enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner courtesy of your brain.

I don’t recommend the Nasal rinses as most people do not have the professional training to correctly sterile the apparatus.

This can lead to increased risk of infections from what seems like a seemingly convenient solution.

2) Using nasal rinses increase the risks of pressure to your brain

When you use a nasal rinse, you need to keep your head at a 45 degree angle. Unfortunately most people do not do this effectively.

The water can then retain in your sinuses.

When the water is retained in your sinuses. It creates the condition for bacteria and infections can occur. It will also add extra pressure on your brain affecting your balance, giving you a sense of dizziness and is generally bad for your health.

How can you be sure that you are executing the right angle each time? It only takes that one time to potentially cause harm.

3) Nasal rinses cause more inflammation in the lining of your sinuses

When the Nasal Linings are infected. Using a salt solution will irritate and inflame your nasal passages.

The nasal linings are extremely sensitive and it is the equivalent of adding salt to a wound.

It’s gonna burn!

You may feel some temporary relief as dust and allergens are forcibly flushed out. But the unwanted side effect is MORE irritation.

It is a double edged sword.

If there are any wounds or soreness in the nostril, you can be sure that you’ve just made things worse.

Imagine if you swallowed some salt - it would taste disgusting!

Salt can be good for bigger glands - like your throat - but the key thing to remember is that your nasal linings are extremely sensitive.

Even small dust particles are enough to make you sneeze - so just imagine the harm putting salt in there can do.

So what’s the solution? In order for your sinuses to heal naturally, it’s important to keep them dry.
